Soils and Vineyards

The typical profile of quality soil in the Rioja Alta and Alavesa is calcareous clay. The area of cultivation is on a very disintegrated calcareous slabs through whose cracks the roots can be introduced and thus, in dry years access the moisture that by capillarity is stored under these rocks.

In the vineyards of the Count of Hervías, on a calcareous clay soil as a base, given our peculiar geographical situation, we have three different vineyards that give a unique character to our wines.
