Torremontalbo is a municipality in the autonomous community of La Rioja (Spain) located at the foot of the N-232 road, in the vicinity of the mouth of the Najerilla river in the Ebro. It has a population of 17 inhabitants (INE, 2009) and an extension of 4.96 km².

          The first reference to Montalbo takes place in the eleventh century, when the town was donated by Mr. Acenaris to the Monastery of San Millán de la Cogolla. In the 13th century it passed into the hands of the Navarrese Estúñiga family.

          It formed part of the province of Burgos from its creation in 1766 until the formation of the province of Logroño on November 30, 1833.

          From March 10, 2010, the depopulated Somalo was unbundled from Torremontalbo and added to the municipality of Uruñuela, (Parliament of La Rioja, Act 3/2010).
